stand against hate postcard
This brief came with an apology. Something along the lines of, “we’re so sorry, it’s a really small thing but we need you to write a postcard.” The postcard was for Mike Haines (brother of aid worker David Haines, who was murdered by so-called Islamic State terrorists). Mike wanted to leave young people with a reminder of his work to promote unity, tolerance and understanding in schools. I came up with the idea of a postcard that contained detachable ‘acts of kindness’ that pupils could write and pass on to each other. It gave Mike’s campaign legacy, but also helped young people carry on his message in their own words.
